ACT Health is responsible under the
Corrections Management Act 2007 for the
appointment of the therapeutic doctor for the new prison. It issued for public
comment until 2 October 2007 a Health Services Plan for the prison for
2007-2010. Several Coalition members provided comments by the closing date. It
is understood that a finalised version of the plan will be released shortly. In
the meantime, the Draft Corrections Health Plan can be found here.
Evaluation
of the AMC
The ACT Government is
committed to an evaluation of the AMC to determine if a needle and
syringe program is warranted. The first 3 monthly report to ACT Health's
Chief Executive has been obtained under FOI.
